Adding a widget
- Home Screen: touch and hold an empty spot → Edit → Add Widget → How Many Days, then pick the small or the medium size.
- Choosing the event: touch and hold the widget → Edit Widget → Event. Each widget can show a different one.
- Other units: tap the number on a Home Screen widget to switch between days, weeks, months and years.
- Coming up: the medium or large Coming up widget lists the next beautiful numbers of all your events, like a departures board. Tap a row to open that event.
- Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen → Customize → Lock Screen → tap the widget area under the clock → How Many Days.
Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight and Control Center
- Siri: “How Many Days until Christmas Eve”, “How Many Days since we met” or “Next beautiful number in How Many Days” (in English or German).
- Shortcuts: the app adds How many days and Next beautiful number — use them in your own shortcuts and automations.
- Spotlight: type an event's name on the Home Screen to open it.
- Control Center (iOS 18 and later): open Control Center → + → Add a Control → How Many Days. While editing, tap the control to choose the event.
Languages
The app speaks English, Czech and German, following your iPhone's language. Czech and German need the event in the right grammatical form after “od / do” or “seit / bis zu” — fill in In a sentence when you add an event (“naší svatby”, “unserer Hochzeit”); the preview below it shows how it reads.
What makes a number beautiful?
Round numbers (1,000 days), repeated digits (1,111), runs (12,345), palindromes, whole weeks and months, and the big ones in hours, minutes and seconds (100,000 hours, a billion seconds). The app picks whichever unit makes the count special that day.
Notifications
On the morning one of your events hits a beautiful number, the app sends a notification at 9:00. Turn them on or off under Your events → ••• → Settings, or in iOS Settings → How Many Days.
How Many Days Pro
- What it is: a one-time purchase, no subscription. It unlocks a color and a style for each widget (touch and hold the widget → Edit Widget → Color, Style) and alternate app icons.
- Where: Your events → ••• → Settings → Pro.
- New phone or reinstalled the app? Pro comes back by itself with the same Apple Account; if not, tap Restore purchases on the Pro screen.
- Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Exact time and the live countdown
- Exact time: turn on Exact time when you add or edit an event (born at 3:42, wedding at 2 PM). Hour, minute and second milestones then land on the exact minute, and so does their notification — or the next morning at 9:00 if it's at night.
- Live countdown (iPhone with iOS 17 and later): in the last 8 hours before an event — or before an exact beautiful moment such as 1,000,000 minutes — open it and tap Live countdown on the Lock Screen. It ticks on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. If nothing appears, turn on Live Activities in Settings → How Many Days.
Sharing a beautiful number as a picture
Tap the notification, or open the event and tap Share today's picture: you get a picture in the size of a story (Instagram, WhatsApp, Messages) to send or save to Photos.
Moving events from the website to the app
Events on the website are saved in that browser only. Open the event, tap Share, and open the link on your iPhone: links to howmanydaysfrom.com/e/… open in the app and add the event. You can also copy the link and use Your events → ••• → Add from a copied link.
Backups and other devices
With Sync with iCloud on (Your events → ••• → Settings; it's on by default), your events appear on every iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, and come back when you set up a new phone. Without iCloud, events stay on the iPhone and in its backups — use share links to move one.
Privacy
